Season Change: Fruit of the Spirit

For this month’s blog series we focused on “Harvest” and have believed that our season has changed! From hurt to healing, poverty to prosperity and struggle to success … GOD IS ABLE! You will reap the harvest that God promised you. It is YOUR season!

Today we will focus on the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 states “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law”. The beauty in putting the fruit of the Spirit in application within our lives is the evidence of being in alignment with God. As we encounter different situations in life, let us ensure that our life bears the fruit of the Spirit.

God is a Spirit, and his worshipers must worship Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24). In order to worship God in “Spirit and in truth” we must bear the fruit of His likeness. Everything listed in Galatians 5:22-23 exhibits the characteristics of God. Jesus came on this earth and showed us all of these characteristics in ACTION! Often times we talk the talk, but are we walking the walk? You can know all the Scriptures, memorize them – but are you putting them into practice?

What does God want? It is easy to put the fruit of the Sprit into practice when your patience isn’t being tested. There may be instances where your “fruit of the Spirit” is tested with those individuals you tend to have a short fuse for. This is your opportunity to exhibit Christ. In the moments it is the toughest, show others how Christ would react. Luke 6:32 states " "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them".

My prayer is that God will help us to grow in this area. That we begin to see the fruit of the Spirit manifested in a new way in our lives during this season. May we begin to see the evidence of the fruits on our tree and it be aligned with the characteristics of God.

For His Glory only,
